Serve

Make a difference.

By serving at HDC, you can make the church feel like your church, demonstrate your faith through your actions, and invest in those you serve and their oikos.

God has created each of us with different gifts and talents to help prepare others to change their worlds for Christ (Ephesians 4:11-12). Whether you are gifted in music, productions, hospitality, or design (just to name a few), we want to help you discover how God has shaped you to impact the lives of children, students, or adults.

We know God will use you to prepare every generation to change their worlds for Christ (1 Corinthians 15:58). Of course, there are some basic requirements to serve at HDC. To volunteer, we ask for everyone to attend HDC for at least 6 months and attend HDC’s membership class within 6 months. It’s better if you attend the class before you fill out an application so you know what you’re getting into, but we can help you take the next step if you have not attended yet.

Here are 3 simple steps to serving at HDC.

1

Application

If you want to volunteer in one of our departments, please fill out an application below. Once you submit the application, we should contact you within a week.

2

Interview

Next, we will set up an in-person interview to hear what God has done and is doing in your life. We will discuss why you want to serve and the expectations of the ministry you are interested in.

3

Orientation

Once you are approved to serve in a ministry, we will train you to effectively use your gifts to prepare others to change their worlds. The ministry director will then give you the next steps.

Find a meaningful role at the campus you attend:

Campus Experience

View Summary

Thank you so much for considering the Campus Experience Team. We have teams that help set up, tear down, and host our services. Along with these teams, we also have people who serve on our hospitality team. Our Campus Experience Team helps make a church campus feel like a church home for anyone who attends.

Campus Safety

View Summary

Our Campus Safety Team plays a key role in protecting and creating a safe environment for all who attend a weekend service on each of our campuses across the desert. Our safety teams include security, dispatch (available only on the Victorville campus), and health care personnel who are always ready to provide help.

Care

View Summary

In our Care ministry, we know people are from all walks of life and we know that they don’t have to walk alone. From helping others become financially wise, mentoring a married couple, or leading our support and recovery groups, our Care team is here for our church. We need caring people who are gifted to walk alongside people where they are.

Communications

View Summary

In Comm, we want photographers and videographers to use their creative skills and gifts to help HDC communicate the great things God is doing here. We're looking for people with great people skills and who have their own gear.

Groups

View Summary

A Small Group offers a place to meet with others, discuss the sermon, and build relationship that prepare us to reach our oikos and change the world. Our Small Group leaders play an influential role in transforming our church from a service people attend to a church family they belong to. Our Small Group leaders help facilitate a safe environment to discuss questions based on the sermon and build authentic and meaningful relationships that point each other to Jesus.

Kids

View Summary

At HDC, our aim is to connect kids deeply to church and to God through personal relationships. At each of our campuses, we have teams that work with babies, preschoolers, and elementary kids. If you have a heart for kids, this ministry is for you.

Our local outreach team serves with our local partnerships. Our current partnerships are the Victor Valley Rescue Mission, Rose of Sharon, High Desert Second Chance Food Bank, Olive Crest Foster and Adoption Services, St. Mary’s Medical Center, Apple Valley and Hesperia Christian Schools.

Volunteer opportunities range from serving food, counseling single parents, driving and setting up the mobile shower unit, collecting donations, fixing up men’s homes, cleaning up campuses, and praying with people.

HDC Online Hosts help those watching online feel welcomed and seen while encouraging them to take the best next step in their walk with God.

Productions

Our Productions team works with cameras, lights, audio, and more at each of our campuses. In Productions, our aim is to connect our attenders with God through an engaging weekend service or midweek event where our volunteers get to play a key role in the production.

Students

View Summary

We have teams that specifically work with either our juniors or seniors in High School. At HDC, our aim is to connect students deeply to church and to God through personal relationships. In Student ministries, you get to help students be challenged to develop a growing, personal relationship with God that consistently impacts their daily lives.

Worship
