Marriage is one of the biggest decisions of your life, second only to choosing to follow God. HDC’s premarital counseling exists to prepare legally single couples to see marriage through a Biblical and oikocentric worldview. Our Premarital counseling is designed for heterosexual couples who are legally single and are seeking to become legally married. All couples seeking to be married at HDC or by an HDC Ministry Staff person must interview with a ministry staff person prior to any counseling.
Counseling will be done privately with a ministry staff person trained in premarital counseling and will cover expectations and family history, the purpose and traits of a biblical marriage, conflict resolution, roles and responsibilities, sexual intimacy, and finances.
To start the process, we recommend you contact the church at least four months prior to your wedding date. You can register for counseling by clicking here. You can also call 760-245-2415 x225 or email if you have any questions.

This PDF addresses the following:
- Wedding costs and information
- Premarital agreement
- Is sex before marriage always sinful?
- I'm married in God's eyes; do I need to be officially married?
- Should dating or engaged couples live together?
For the health and success of your marriage, we strongly recommend you abstain from sexual intercourse and cohabitation, (not complying with these 2 recommendations will not disqualify you from premarital counseling but may from having an HDC ministry staff person officiate your wedding).
