Local Outreach

Welcome

Matthew 5:16 says, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Throughout the Bible, God tells His followers to focus on telling others about Him and His saving grace. HDC is a church that exists to prepare and partner with you to reach your oikos. By doing this, Christians must live their lives as God commands because we know that our oikos is constantly watching us to see if we care for the poor, needy, and less fortunate as God does.

God’s heart for the poor is evident throughout the Old and New Testament (Deut. 15:7-11, Prov. 3:27-28, Luke 6:38, Matthew 25). Scripture continuously tells Christians to carry the burdens of others, especially the orphaned and fatherless (James 1:27, Matthew 25:35, Galatians 6:2, Isaiah 1:17). In order to model our lives after God, we must use what He provided us to help those in need and carry the burdens of others. By doing this, we will demonstrate our faith in God and be provided with more opportunities to share God’s Word with others.

HDC has partnered with several different organizations to demonstrate and share the Gospel of Jesus throughout the valley. These partnerships will provide you with amazing opportunities to share God’s Word with those who do not know Him yet.

Backpack Drive

We love partnering with local organizations to help with world change. One of the ways we do that is by partnering with amazing companies like the Victor Valley Rescue Mission to provide backpacks filled with supplies to our local schools for our students. Thanks to the continued generosity of those who call HDC home, we are able to purchase all of the needs, but we still need your help to prepare, stuff, and pass out backpacks.

Olive Crest

Throughout the Bible, Christians are told to carry the burdens of others. It is especially important for Christians to carry the burdens of those who are orphaned or fatherless. Through our partnership with Olive Crest, we are able to come alongside a foster, adoptive, or biological family to provide spiritual, practical, and emotional support. This includes financial assistance, household goods, and helping a family begin to foster or adopt children who need a safe and stable home.

Rose of Sharon

We believe that life begins at conception. When a mother decides to keep her child, we celebrate her decision and want to provide her and her family with support. We have partnered with the Rose of Sharon Pregnancy Center to provide free and confidential counseling, pregnancy tests, maternity and infant supplies (diapers, formula, clothes), post-abortion support, adoption information, and many more resources.

High Desert Second Chance

God’s heart for the poor and hungry is evident throughout the Bible. In the Old Testament, Israel’s farmers were commanded to leave the edges of their field unharvested for the poor to “glean” from to feed their families. HDC is excited to partner with the only official food bank in the High Desert. High Desert Second Chance Food Bank provides a helping hand to the homeless, the hungry, and the food insecure in our community by answering their needs and giving hope.

Victor Valley Rescue Mission

God’s heart for the poor, hungry, and homeless is evident throughout the Bible. In partnership with the Victor Valley Rescue Mission, HDC helps provide meals, housing, clothing, and addiction recovery for the “least of these” in our community. With this partnership, we are following God’s plan to minister to the hungry, share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and equip our church family to engage their oikos.

Providence St. Mary's Medical Center

Jesus reminds us that it’s not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. Everywhere He went, Jesus taught and healed (spiritually, emotionally, and physically). HDC’s partnership with SMMC nurtures the spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being of those in our community. As a church, we have encouraged those who work and serve in the healthcare industry, provided access and medical care resources to the poor and vulnerable of our community, and helped educate, counsel, and remove the stigma of mental health.
